Wasted a day waiting for a delivery...
I was hoping beyond all hope that I would be one of the success stories, but here we are past 9pm empty handed. Our delivery was supposed to arrive between 1 and 5pm today. This is strategically difficult for us, because we aren't yet living where our order is supposed to be delivered to--which means we had to chill in an empty house for half the day.
At 5pm, without hearing from anyone, we called the shipping company and waited on hold for almost 40 minutes before being able to speak to someone. (Btw the hold system is awful. There are numerous recordings telling you to remain on hold that make it sound like your call is being answered. It felt like each one was recorded by a different person, both female and male voices. I swear they were fucking with us. The music kept getting quiet and louder randomly also and at times stopped completely, making you think the call had ended. It was kind of a mess.)
The guy we talked to tried to call the driver, but he couldn't reach them. He told us he'd escalate the issue for us and that we'd either hear from the driver or get an e-mail addressing what's going on tonight. Spoilers, neither happened.
I suppose we will trying calling the shipping company again in the morning and see where that gets us. I want to be frustrated, but I don't have the emotional energy to spare tbh. I just wanted to share my experience with others braving the online ordering system. It isn't all sunshine and rainbows. I'll post updates in the comments if anyone is interested.
