Jamie Vardy’s hat-trick helped Leicester City FC stun the English Premier League giants Manchester City to a 5-2 defeat at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City hosted Leicester City FC on 27th September, Sunday at the Etihad Stadium in a Premier League match. Both the feature a very solid lineup but it’s Manchester City who had the advantage over Leicester City FC.
Manchester City’s Riyadh Mahrez scored the opening goal of the match against his former team in the 4th minute of the match. In the 36th minute, Leicester City earned a penalty kick after Manchester City’s Kyle Walker took down Leicester striker Jamie Vardy.
Jamie Vardy converted the penalty kick to make equalise for Leicester City. At the end of the first half, the scoreline was 1 goal for each of the team. Vardy scored his second goal of the match in the 53rd minute after a cross from Castagne. Jamie Vardy then completed his hat-trick in the 58th minute after he converted the 2nd penalty of the match.
Then in the 77th minute of the match, James Maddison scored a goal to make it 4-1 against Manchester City. Maddison was just subbed into the match in the 69th minute, and he made a instant impact.
Manchester City’s new defender this season Nathan Ake scored the 2nd goal for with the hope of a draw in the in 84th minute. But Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans converted a penalty to finish it off for Leicester City.
While all of the Leicester players were in top form during the match, Manchester City’s defenders looked awful. With this win, Leicester City now leads the league table while Manchester City is in a very bad position in 13th place in the league table.
