College Football Gambling Guide- October 17, 2020

By Tim Birkmeyer There’s one more week until we really get a slate of college football with the return of the Big Ten and Mountain West, and only a few weeks away from everyone being back. But, that’s for next week’s post. Today, we have Week 7 of the college football season and honestly only one good matchup tonight with Georgia and Alabama. Last week, we went 2-3 and we needed just one more point in Miami-Clemson to go 3-2 so we have some room to improve this week. As mentioned earlier, there’s not too many good matchups today, so gambling on some games will be perfect! Once again, I’ll provide five picks I really like that span over the whole day. Here are today’s picks: *Note/Disclaimer: I am by no means a gambling genius. Please take my picks with an air of caution and please bet responsibly.* Auburn MoneyLine (-148) at South Carolina – Consider this an emotional hedge. I really want my Gamecocks to win, but I just don’t see it happening. Auburn hasn’t looked great, but this might be the game they put it together. However, should the Gamecocks pull out the win, I’ll be happy to lose this bet and a little bit of money as I know I’ll make it back. Clemson 1st Half Team Total OVER 26.5 Points (-115) –  Clemson is going to win today at Georgia Tech, there’s no denying that. And this will be a “get up by a lot so we can play the backups in the 2nd half” game for Clemson. In Georgia Tech’s last three games, they have given up 20+ points at the half. So, I trust Trevor Lawrence to put up 27 or more. Texas A&M and Mississippi State OVER 56 points (-110) – Yes, I know Miss. St. scored a total of 2 points last week. But do you think that’ll happen again by Mike Leach and his air raid? Absolutely not. A&M’s defense is giving up 300 yards in the passing game and over 30 points per game. This is a great defense to bounce back offensively and this will be a close game, but I’m envisioning something like 33-27 which by my math, the over hits. UMass and Georgia Southern OVER 61.5 Points (-110) – If you bet the overs in UMass games last year, you’d be up by a lot because this basically always hit. UMass gave up over 40+ in all but one game, 50+ points in 7 games, and 60+ points in 4 games. In their only scheduled game this season, look for Georgia Southern to score a bunch and win this game with ease. Alabama (-5.5) vs. Georgia (-110) – Once again, I’m going with Alabama to cover in the game of the day. Nick Saban, whether on the sideline or at home, will have his team prepared to take down Georgia and will dominate. Alabama will run the ball well despite UGA having the best run defense in the country and Mac Jones won’t turn the ball over. You can do the ML at (-222), but the line is better and Bama should win by at least a touchdown. So these are the 5 picks for today. The good news is with having an odd number of picks is that you either win or lose, there are no ties (unless we push that A&M/Miss. St. Over). Once again, please take my picks with some caution and please bet responsibly. But, let’s have some fun today and let’s make some money! What are some of your picks? Comment below! By Tim Birkmeyer
