Lenovo Thinkpad E14 will not turn on (Black Screen of Death)
EDIT: Taking out the ram stick and booting solved my issue!
Hello, I have been scouring the web for hours looking for a solution for this problem. This laptop was brand new last month. And no I have not tortured it, I used it mainly to watch lectures at my desk, browse, and maybe some light gaming every now and then.
For some reason unknown, the laptop will not show it's screen, despite it turning on no matter what I do.
-When I power the laptop the ESC, CAPS LOCK, F1, and F4 keys light up. DOES THIS MEAN ANYTHING?
-The keyboard does not work, mouse does not show on screen.
-I have tried using an external monitor, nothing shows up.
Things I've tried:
Removing the battery and AC supply and pressing the power button for 60-120 seconds, then plugging in AC supply. Same issue no screen. Nothing. (I swear I've done this shit 20 times)
Replugging RAM stick
Replugging SSD
Replugging CMOS Battery Plug
Letting the Laptop w/ battery completely die, even pressed and held power button a few times (10s) to make sure it was dead, plugged AC. Nothing.
Switched charging ports, charging brick unit is fine I'm pretty sure.
Gave the keyboard a brisk punch maybe a couple of times. Nothing.
Is there anything else I can do to make this piece of junk work? I'm about ready to tear this thing apart or send it to the shop or chuck it into the garbage.
I also noticed that when I turn the laptop on, the fan spins for 10 seconds before not spinning anymore, does this meaning anything? BIOS related? Motherboard related? Any recommendations on what to do? Thank you.
I can also send pictures as request, nothing out of the ordinary though since I've never touched its innards until today.
