What can I expect from a DevOps Engineer job?
Hey!
In my job, I transitioned from backend to DevOps Engineer (programming + automation + AWS).
I was reading some reddit posts about devops jobs, and some things stuck out to me. (At my job, we don't do this)
- A person was getting alerts at times off work because something(production environment possible) wasn't working and he had to fix it. Is this normal and a regular occurance?
- Is there an expectation for me to program or devops more? Or does it just depend on the company? I would prefer if there is a balance between programming and just devops
- Do you recommend getting such a job? I'm primarily looking to get a international(global?) remote job at a mid-sized company.
- Is there anything I should watch out (red flag) when searching for a job?
- Is the pay good?
