Yoga 6 13are05 Not Charging
I just purchased this Yoga 6 13 from Best Buy Open-Box and it is unable to charge. I figured since i bought the open box that was geek squad certified it work fine right out of the box. Boy was I wrong. Its a great laptop, I love it and will keep it after this issue is resolved. It will power on if the charger remains plugged in but if it disconnects, the yoga will power off. I've downloaded all Lenovo drivers for the device and the only one that had any issues was the bios update, which won't run unless the battery is charged to at least 30% (it currenlty is at 0). Here are a list of other methods I've tried.
- Go into the bios to see if there was an option not enabling it to charge.
- Download Lenovo Vantage and went into battery settings. It gave the message "The battery installed is not supported by the system and will not charge. Please replace the battery with the correct Lenovo battery for this system." which doesn't make sense as even though I bought this from Best Buy open box certified by Geek Squad, there are no scratches on the screws or evidence that it has been opened up.
- Left it on the charger overnight powered off in the hopes it might take a bit to hold a charge.
- Tried multiple type C chargers and power outlets.
I don't want to send this into lenovo since their customer service is pretty shoddy and don't want to send this thing in, get a phantom ticket and never see it again. I'm at a loss here and looking for help.
