My thoughts on Xavi and Koeman:

I doubt Font will count on Koeman past this season. I think his initial plan was for Xavi to be both the General Manager AND first team manager so to give him full control of the first team (rare level of trust in a coach at such a big club).

Remember, the elections were so suppose to take place at the end of the season but Bartomeu’s resignation means Font (and every other candidate) has to delay certain decisions so as to not cause unnecessary uncertainty mid-season.

Two hours after I shared my thoughts on Twitter an article supporting my assertion about Xavi Hernandez’s dual roles in the absence of Koeman we’re confirmed in an article, through Spanish publication Onda Cero.
