If the next generation of consoles (i.e., Playstation 6) were to use ARM, could it be better?
(EDIT better than X86 I mean)
I read somewhere that ARM processors for data centers use half as much power, produce 70% less heat and COST a third of x86 Data Centers, which is why Microsoft is looking into developing its own ARM chips for servers and laptops.
If they were successful there, what if they decided to go with ARM as a next (now that the Xbox Series X is officially out) generation consoles?
Being able to take advantage of ARM could tremendously reduce their hardware costs, could it not?
Apple has been successful with ARM because its a "close eco-system" but that is even more true with consoles.
