The Khronos Group continues tweaking and expanding Vulkan with the 1.2.176 specification update out, which includes a new extension and NVIDIA have already hooked up support.

is the new extension which "adds some more dynamic state to support applications that need to reduce the number of pipeline state objects they compile and bind.". The original version was released back in 2019 and included contributors from Valve like the creator of DXVK. This new and improved version was tweaked by a few NVIDIA engineers.

Almost like clockwork, NVIDIA have a new out 455.50.14 with the sole change being added support for the newer VK_EXT_extended_dynamic_state2 extension. As usual: that driver is aimed at developers and serious enthusiasts, stick with their normal stable channels for a more normal experience.
