NHL suspends Lightning’s Pat Maroon one game for unsportsmanlike conduct

forward was given a one-game suspension for unsportsmanlike conduct after a penalty-filled affair with the , the Department of Player Safety announced Sunday.





The incident occurred midway through the third period, when Maroon was assessed a minor penalty for roughing and a 10-minute misconduct.


There was a total of 136 penalty minutes and seven misconducts during the matchup between the two Central Division foes, which the Panthers went on to win 5-1.


The bad blood between these two teams should grow even further in the coming days, as the two Flordia-based squads are set to square off in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. But first, they will face each other in Monday’s season finale.
