'Catfish' Host Nev Schulman Admits Third Pregnancy Struggles

Many would think that when a couple finds out they are for the third time, the situation would feel like an old hat for them. However, nothing could be further from the truth for and his wife, Laura Perlongo, who have had their share of ups and downs during this pregnancy that has now entered into the .
According to the Catfish host, this pregnancy has proven to feel "overwhelming" and "daunting" at times, per , because of the prospect of how the family dynamics are going to change when the baby is added to the family later this year.
Schulman told the publication that while he and Perlongo are seasoned parents at this point, it does not mean that the experience they have had raising their children, Cleo James, 4, and Beau Bobby Bruce, 2, have them prepared to be parents to at the same time.
The MTV host told People that "experience only gets you so far." This was discovered when the family went from a family of three to that of four. Schulman realized that with two children "the dynamic changes, the needs change, the interactions change," which makes parenting more difficult.
Perlongo shared the struggles that she was personally having with the pregnancy in a candid Instagram post last month.
The soon-to-be mother-of-three wrote that as she was leaving the first trimester, she was still "feeling shook."
During the first trimester, Perlongo dealt with some depression, which she shared in her post that she also had with previous pregnancies. As such, while she was happy to have gotten pregnant because it was what she and Schulman wanted, going through the first trimester was like a "3-month rainy day with no Gene Kelly insight."
Perlongo admitted in her post that she felt like she "lost a piece of herself" after finding out that she was pregnant. And while she knew she would get it back; those feelings were very real during the first trimester.
These sentiments were echoed by Schulman.
The Dancing with the Stars alum told People that while he and Perlongo are "lucky" to be blessed with having another baby, it "doesn't mean that you're always excited and always feel great about it."
Schulman went on to say that he has found himself thinking, "'Well, now I'm going to have another kid, how and when am I going to find time for myself and to still feel like I have my own identity?" He concluded, saying, there are "a lot of emotions attached" to this pregnancy.
The couple announced in early April that they were expecting their third child. This was not a surprise to fans as Schulman commented in early 2020 that he thought the perfect number of children to have was three, according to .
Then in September, he told the publication that he was running around the house, calling it "the more the merrier." To many, it appeared that babies were on Schulman's mind.
The duo has yet to tell people what the gender of their bundle of joy is. However, according to People, Schulman and Perlongo plan to make that announcement before their baby is born in September.
