Is SNL New Tonight? Here’s What We Know About the Next Episode
Update, Saturday, May 8: We finally have a new episode of tonight, May 8! Already a highly controversial host, Elon Musk is making his SNL debut tonight, with Miley Cyrus as musical guest. Musk made headlines the moment it was announced he'd host the show, as the billionaire some of his ideas for sketches, like "Baby Shark & Shark Tank merge to form Baby Shark Tank."
Previously: Will there be a new episode of tonight, May 1? There won't be a new SNL tonight; instead, NBC will re-air a Season 40 episode with host Taraji P. Henson and musical guest Mumford & Sons at 10 p.m. ET. A new episode will air on Saturday, May 8 with host Elon Musk and musical guest Miley Cyrus.
Mulligan's hosting duties followed that of Daniel Kaluuya's the week prior, and the Promising Young Woman actress kicked things off memorably in her opening monologue with real-life husband Marcus Mumford of the band Mumford & Sons making an appearance in the audience to pitch himself as a potential musical guest for the episode. Additionally, Mulligan with films like Portrait of a Lady on Fire and Ammonite in a new sketch starring cast members Heidi Gardner and Kate McKinnon.
The last show before SNL went on a month-long hiatus was hosted by Nick Jonas. Among the highlights of Jonas's February 27 episode was a sketch about a case of mistaken identity involving Prince Charming and Cinderella's glass slipper, an appearance from Jonas's brother, Kevin Jonas, and an incredible sketch about . And, as if Jonas running around the SNL stage performing in multiple sketches wasn't enough, he was also the February 27 musical guest, too.
Jonas's hosting gig capped off a rather terrific February for SNL. Before Jonas, SNL was . Page showed off his comedy chops with a Bridgerton sketch, a saucy opening monologue, and a sketch dedicated to the transformative power of the British accent. Page's hosting gig was one of the best episodes thus far in Season 46, with episodes hosted by Regina King and Schitt's Creek alum Dan Levy coming in close behind.
