New Star Wars Comic Reveals How Luke Skywalker's Jedi Training Evolved

In a new preview for Marvel Comics'  series, the evolution of 's training is on full display, perfectly revealing how far he's come since . At this point in the timeline, Luke has received training from Jedi Master Yoda on the swamp planet of Dagobah, and it's clearly elevated his skills as a Jedi to an impressive degree.

In this latest Star Wars series from writer Charles Soule and artist Ramon Rosanas, Luke is with the Rebellion in the days after Empire Strikes Back, working with Leia Organa and Lando Calrissian to rebuild the Alliance after the Battle of Hoth, as well as to rescue Han Solo, who was taken from them by the legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett. Despite the obvious shock that came from learning that Darth Vader was his father in the fifth episode of the Skywalker saga, Luke has resolved to continue his path to become a Jedi, and he's even found a new yellow-bladed lightsaber to replace the one he lost in the depths of Cloud City after during their duel.

A Marvel Comics preview for Star Wars #13 sees Luke working out while aboard one of the Rebel Fleet's ships, attempting to even further. As such, Luke is surrounded by a multitude of floating training droids, the very same type that Luke struggled with back on the Millennium Falcon during A New Hope. STAR WARS #13 PRELUDE TO WAR OF THE BOUNTY HUNTERS: "THE HUNT FOR HAN" CHEWBACCA has heard from an old friend with intelligence on the location of notorious bounty hunter BOBA FETT, known to be in possession of HAN SOLO. Along with LUKE SKYWALKER, the loyal Wookiee sets off in search of his lost friend, on an adventure to Nar Shadaa... the SMUGGLER'S MOON! Clearly, Luke has come a long way on his Jedi path, as he's now able to handle several of the training droids at once at this point in the timeline, maintaining an impressive level of peace and calm one would expect from a formidable Jedi. However, his training is cut short when Chewbacca brings news about a possible sighting of Boba Fett. Thanks to the issue synopsis and preview pages, it's revealed that this issue will serve as a prelude for the series' greater involvement in the imminent , which will feature several key players in the galaxy looking to recover Han Solo trapped in carbonite, including agents of the Rebellion and the Empire.

Despite how vital it is for the Rebellion to reclaim their lost ally, Luke agreeing to go with Chewie to check up on this lead prevents him from hearing a message from R2-D2 about Elphrona, the world where he got his new lightsaber, and which existed as an important Jedi world during . With so many priorities placing demands on his time, it remains unclear whether even Luke Skywalker's new skills will be up to the tasks before him when Star Wars #13 hits retailers May 12.
