In belief of customer service
We have been trying to have our laptop fixed for the past year. Here is the timeline of events:
- Laptop purchased in December of 2019
- Webcam has a hardware failure in October of 2020
- Laptop returned under warranty in October of 2020
- Received back in December of 2020, but issued was not fixed for some reason. Webcam still does not work. Unit out of warranty now since it spent 3 months with Lenovo, not even being fixed.
- Reached back out to Lenovo but was told they were no longer accepting warranty claims due to pandemic for the time being. Was told to reach out in a few months but not to worry because since the issue happened while under warranty that they would still help rectify the issue.
- Now that we are talking to Lenovo again (over the past 2 months), they are saying they cannot help us as it is so far out of warranty. They are claiming they have no history of our prior communications and that we need to have it repaired ourselves.
Does any one have any advice on how we should proceed? Is there anyone from Lenovo on this board? We are blown away at how terrible Lenovo customer service has been. I'm going to try my credit card company to see if a charge back can be initiated but am open to other ideas.
