Blue Jays manager Montoyo provides updates on injured pitchers

Manager Charlie Montoyo provided an update on the ‘ long list of injured pitchers ahead of Wednesday’s matchup against the Atlanta Braves.

Montoyo said that , who’s been dealing with a right-elbow issue since mid-March, is scheduled to throw two or three innings of a simulation game on Thursday. He is currently on the 60-day injured list.

Right-handed reliever is expected to throw a bullpen session on Friday. The 33-year-old left the Blue Jays’ game against the Houston Astros on May 7 with right-calf tightness.

Prospect threw 18 pitches on Tuesday, according to Montoyo, and is expected to throw another bullpen session later in the week as he rehabs a shoulder ailment.

Young Venezuelan right-hander is still experiencing tightness in his forearm, but is also expected to throw a bullpen this weekend.
