First Look: Feel Good Season 2
Netflix has released the first look at the return of Mae Martin's acclaimed semi-autobiographical comedy Feel Good. The first series, which aired in 2020 followed the love story of Mae and George (Charlotte Richie) as Mae struggled to hide her addiction and grappled with her personal and love lives.
Loved for being honest, dark and laugh out loud funny, the series topped a lot of best of the year lists including our own.
After their initial meeting in a comedy club, we fast-forward three months as things are getting more serious and Mae is moving into George’s house. They’re just as in love as when they first met, but the blissful honeymoon period subsides with George discovering that her sweet, attentive girlfriend is a recovering drug addict.
With warm and human performances from Martin and Richie alongside Lisa Kudrow and Sophie Thompson, the first series proved a hit worldwide on Netflix. Despite airing on Channel 4 in the UK, the second series will air exclusively on Netflix after the UK broadcaster walked away from the show.
Full details on the second series are scarce but the official Netflix synopsis reads: Mae & George’s complicated love story continues as Mae struggles to come to terms with the ghosts from her past and George tries to reinvent her present. Can they grow together or will they grow apart?
