Y: The Last Man Trailer Previews FX on Hulu’s Post-Apocalyptic Series

FX has finally released the official Y: The Last Man trailer for their long-in-development series adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra’s popular comic book series, starring Ben Schnetzer as Yorick Brown. The series is scheduled to make its debut on Monday, September 13 on FX on Hulu.


The video, which you can check out below, provides us a preview of the day when every male mammal mysteriously dies, leaving the women to fend for themselves. It highlights the chaos and problems that the post-apocalyptic world will bring as the female leaders try to save what’s left of their world.






 “traverses a post-apocalyptic world in which a cataclysmic event decimates every mammal with a Y chromosome but for one cisgender man and his pet monkey. It follows the survivors in this new world as they struggle with their efforts to restore what was lost and the opportunity to build something better.”


The series stars Ben Schnetzer (The Book Thief), Diane Lane (Unfaithful, Man of Steel), Ashley Romans (NOS4A2), Diana Bang (The Interview), Olivia Thirlby (Juno), Marin Ireland (The Umbrella Academy Season 2), Amber Tamblyn (The Sisterhood of Traveling Pants films), Paul Gross (Due South), and Elliot Fletcher (The Fosters).



Based on DC Comics’ acclaimed series by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra, Y: The Last Man is executive produced by Eliza Clark, who also serves as the showrunner. Executive producers are Vaughan, Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson of Color Force, Mari Jo Winkler-Ioffreda, Louise Friedberg, and Melina Matsoukas, with Nellie Reed set as a producer.


It is a 60-issue science fiction comic book series published beginning in 2002. It received three Eisner Awards and received the first Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story for Y: The Last Man, Volume 10.
