It’s Time. We’re Renting Out The Mountain House And Here’s How It’s Going Down…

Hey all, The Hendersons have finally decided to rent out our home to respectful renters (families, small company retreats and photo shoots).

We’re going to price it dependent on season and length of stay, so please email your dates and we’ll send the price. Currently, the going rate up here for a house this big is between $800 – $1200 a night, FYI. Also, please include the number of guests, why you’re coming up, and any info you think may be helpful. We have some dates blacked out because we’re planning on coming back frequently, but as of now, Labor Day Weekend is available so get your request in asap! We’ll rent it through December 16th when we’ll come down for holiday break and see how this goes before releasing winter dates in January. Those who want to rent a week or two will have preference:) We are booked for the weekend of September 17th, September 21st, November 1st, and have a hold on the week of Thanksgiving. We are hoping for multiple families, small corporate retreats, or photoshoots.

We’re actually very happy to be able to share it with you all, and hopefully, you’ll be able to come and enjoy the mountains as much as we have.

Emily will be writing a comprehensive “what to do, eat and see in Lake Arrowhead” post soon for all those interested. Trust us, it’s awesome.

**The first draft of this post was deleted because the tone was misconstrued by some offended readers. We understand (all too well) that tone is difficult on blogs and what we think is funny IRL, apparently isn’t on a website. That is our fault and we are sorry – its truly hard to predict how something will get taken when we all know the writer and how funny he is. My team was OOO on a retreat together for the first time before Covid and none of us were behind our computers to edit or do damage control. I’m sorry if you were offended by my husbands sense of humor about his reservations about renting out our home. However what won’t be tolerated is a toxic comment section that disparages my husband, my family, my team and other commenters. We try to stay on top of deleting comments that provoke toxicity. Period. That does not mean that we don’t listen, edit and make changes both personally and professionally. That doesn’t mean that we don’t take constructive feedback to heart and learn and grow. It simply means toxicity isn’t tolerated here and even if you don’t think your comment was toxic, it likely sets of a toxic flood – one slightly negative comment gives others the right to be more negative and then it gets out of control and we have to delete all of them (because thats how comment threads work – the ‘replyers’ automatically get deleted if the comment they are responding to needs to be deleted). We deleted the negative comments immediately while walking to our car, and since have deleted all the positive comments as well as to not to be false. I appreciate you understanding our boundaries and we also now have a better idea of yours.
