Prices for the Eternal Beings non-fungible tokens plunged on Wednesday (September 29), according to Cointelegraph, after Lil Uzi Vert pulled down numerous social media promotional postings for the project. According to the report, Uzi removed the posts following the debut of Eternal Beings on Tuesday (September 28).
Over 11,111 computer-generated alien avatars have been designed to seem like Lil Uzi Vert with his hair, tattoos, and unique fashion sense in the NFT collection, which is centered in Solana — a blockchain platform. The NFTs were advertised at a price of 2.5 SOL ($335), which sold out, then the price decreased to 1.67 SOL ($225) when Uzi erased the postings. There’s no evidence on whether Baby Pluto was on the genuine Eternal Beings squad or if he was paid for his marketing, which caused some confusion following the price decrease.
Some members of the Eternal Beings community were concerned that the NFT drop was a ruse. It didn’t help that the project’s Discord channel released an expletive-laden message urging its members, who were referred to as “a bunch of pussies,” not to panic.
Following the rant, Eternal Beings issued a statement apologizing for their lack of professionalism and explaining the situation with Lil Uzi Vert’s postings being deleted. According to the label, Lil Uzi Vert took a break from Eternal Beings to work on his upcoming album. The Eternal Beings have deactivated their Twitter profile as of press time, but their claimed Instagram account is still active, leaving followers to question what is going on with the project.
