New educational programme in data science launched
It was recently announced that a new educational initiative was launched to encourage young people to pursue a career in data science.
Indeed, the initiative was developed through a partnership between Digdata and Facebook and it will be creating virtual challenges for aspiring engineers. It will hopefully inspire young people to continue in data science by offering them continuous professional development.
The aim of the programme is then to give them insight into how data might be used in solving business problems as well as changing misconceptions about STEM subjects. In order to do so, the initiative will be working with 200 schools and 40 universities in the UK and offers different levels of access depending on the school year of the participants.
Besides, they will have the opportunity to work with partner organizations and participate in virtual projects. The students will also have access to online resources to help them understand what is involved in a data science career.
