Introduction

Pre-Treatment and Process

Ms. Helina Berhe was admitted to the hospital on 25 February 2021. She was welcomed by the healthcare team and sensitised about the procedure, breast implant to be chosen, complications and risks involved, its preparation, post-procedure recovery timelines, and precautions to be taken. She was also apprised of the time period for which the breast lift would last, i.e., 10 to 15 years and even more on the optimistic side.

The complications and risks involved with a Breast Lift surgery are

• Bleeding


• Infection


• Blood or fluid collecting in the breasts, which may need to be drained


• Scars – they could be thick or painful


• Poor healing of incisions


• Loss of feeling in the breast or nipple can be temporary


• The uneven shape of one breast, or uneven breasts


• Blood clots

Some preparatory steps that were taken prior to the surgery were as follows:

• A blood test was taken


• The doctor reviewed current medications


• It was checked that the patient does not smoke or take recreational drugs


• It was also checked that the patient does not take aspirin or anti-inflammatory drugs, which are linked to an increased bleeding

After this, the procedure began with anaesthesia and was completed within approximately 3 1/2 hours. The plastic surgeon raised and reshaped the breasts of the patient so that they looked rounder as well as firmer. Extra skin that was around her breast was removed, and the size of her areola was lessened. The surgery was completed without any complications and was a complete success.

Post Treatment

The patient spent one day in the hospital and two weeks in the country for recovery. . Even though the patient travelled alone to Turkey for her treatment and stay, she was taken care of by MediGence.
