Install HPLIP 3.21.8 in Ubuntu 20.04 / LinuxMint / RHEL
This tutorial will be helpful for beginners to install HPLIP 3.21.8 in Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, RHEL 8.4, LinuxMint 20.2, and Manjaro 21.0.7.

How to Install HPLIP 3.21.8 in Ubuntu / LinuxMint?
Step 1: Download the installer file from the Sourceforge site or use the below command
wget https://nchc.dl.sourceforge.net/project/hplip/hplip/3.21.8/hplip-3.21.8.run
Step 2: Make it executable
chmod -R 755 hplip-3.21.8.run
Step 3: Install HPLIP 3.21.8
./hplip-3.21.8.run
If you face any dependency issues while installing the hplip on ubuntu use the below commands
sudo apt install libcups2 cups libcups2-dev cups-bsd cups-client libcupsimage2-dev lib
Follow the on-screen instructions, provide the basic info to build the HPLIP on your system, once the setup is completed unplug and plug the printer and start the printing.
Uninstall HPLIP 3.21.8
To uninstall the installed version of HPLIP 3.21.8 we have to use the same installer file for uninstallation since we don’t have it, use the below commands to extract the contents for a run file
sh hplip-3.21.8.run –noexec && cd hplip-3.21.8
sudo python3 ./uninstall.py
