EDA software hones IC power integrity

Siemens’ mPower analysis software performs power integrity verification for analog, digital, and mixed-signal IC designs of any size. With nearly unlimited scalability, mPower enables comprehensive power, electromigration (EM), and voltage drop (IR) analysis for even the largest IC designs. A synchronized quad-view GUI simplifies and streamlines debug and analysis.

For analog IC designers, mPower replaces rough static analysis and Spice simulation of select nets with a dynamic technique that achieves highly accurate, simulation-based EM/IR analysis on the largest blocks and chips. According to Siemens, overall runtime improvements using mPower range from 2X faster to actually completing EM/IR analysis of large analog IP blocks on the first pass.

mPower digital software offers power integrity analysis with massive scalability. Its EM/IR engines easily integrate into existing design flows, while requiring low per-machine memory. The digital software accepts industry-standard inputs throughout the flow to minimize cost and increase reuse. Additionally, it supports both vectored and vectorless analysis, memory power profiling, and in-rush analysis.

Available now, mPower power integrity analysis software completes Siemens’ overall electro-physical signoff suite addressing power, performance, and reliability analysis. Other offerings in the suite include Calibre PERC, PowerPro, HyperLynx, and Analog FastSPICE platforms.
