With the Royal Challengers Bangalore being back in the playoffs, Virat Kohli’s dreams of winning his first IPL trophy have once again come alive in his heart and mind. And his team looks to have the right mindset while heading into the post-season, or at least they did until they lost their second-last match of the regular season to SunRiders Hyderabad by just 4 runs.

Ever since the loss, the RCB fans have become extremely . They have started living in panic due to the not-so-helpful past of RCB in the playoffs, and out of frustration, after just one game, they are witch-hunting Gautam Gambhir and blaming him for RCB’s loss on Wednesday. Why?

Well, simply because Gambhir wished them well.

Ahead of the match between RCB and SRH, Gambhir expressed his hopes of watching Virat Kohli’s side win this very important match. Getting the upper hand over Kane Williamson’s squad would have given them a confirmed top-two spot in the playoffs, allowing them an extra match as a backup, if they lose their first post-season match while chasing the IPL trophy.

“I sincerely wish #RCB finish in top 2 and win this #IPL2021 because this is Virat Kohli’s last IPL as captain,” Gambhir had spoken in favour of Kohli in what is his final attempt to chase the championship as the RCB skipper before he resigns from the post at the end of the season.

But why so much hate for Gambhir specifically, you ask? 

Simply because whenever Gambhir praises or backs up a player or a team ahead of a match, they seem to not do so well and end up with a bad performance on the ground. 

It has been a  who continue to make hilarious requests to the southpaw about not choosing any Indian cricketers in his fantasy cricket team and ask him to praise the best performing player in the opposing side as much as he can so that in the next match, they end up choking.

One of the greatest instances of such an incident was when Gambhir had selected Delhi Capitals’ Marcus Stoinis to be the captain of his fantasy team for the .

The Australian, who’d had a phenomenal IPL season in 2020, ended up getting out on a golden duck on the batting end of the team and also turned out to be the most expensive bowler for Delhi in the final against Mumbai Indians.
