Football Is Finally Here

NFL football is finally here. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and The Dallas Cowboys square off in the first Thursday night game in what promises to be an exciting season. The game is headlined by a couple of former Michigan and Ohio State greats who both expect to have great seasons.

This season, for Tom Brady, is an opportunity for him to do something that no other quarterback has done since – well, Tom Brady (2003 & 2004). That’s winning back-to-back Lombardi Trophies. Tom Brady has already cemented himself as the greatest quarterback ever to play the game. Any additional accolades (even another ring) will only be a nice garnish on top of the already frosted cake.

For Zeke Elliot, this season is an opportunity to re-establish himself as the best running back in the league after a dropoff in production last season. Not only does Zeke have to deal with a battered offensive line, but he’s also going to be the workhorse as Dak Prescott gets up to speed following a gruesome leg injury the previous season.

WHO YOU GOT?
I don’t think many people outside of the Cowboys’ faithful expect much from America’s team this season. On the other hand, the pressure is on Tom Brady and The Bucs to repeat. But if there’s one thing we’ve learned about TB12, it’s that he thrives under pressure.

My prediction: The road to back-to-back championships starts with a win tonight by the defending champs in their backyard. The Cowboys will come out to play, but the 44-year-old QB will find a way to make winning look easy.

Final Score: Tampa Bay 31 – Dallas 17
