The fantasy universe of The Witcher is about to expand, as Netflix announces a six-part live-action prequel called The Witcher: Blood Origins. This prequel is would take us back in time to about 1200 years before Geralt of Rivia, the prequel will traverse into a period when “the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged into one, and the first Witcher came to be.” However, the time with which this series will be released hasn’t been announced yet, neither has the cast of the show been released but it’s still quite exciting to know how the original show came to be. Declan de Barra will be the showrunner and also act as the producer, and Lauren Schmidt Hissrich as executive producer.
