Rivers State Governor Nyseom Wike on Tuesday directed schools in Rivers state to re-open.
The information was contained in a statement signed by the State’s Commissioner for Education, Prof Kaniye Ebeku. The re-opening, however, is for the limited purpose “of allowing candidates in exit classes to revise with their teachers and write their exit examinations.”
“Accordingly, all affected teachers and candidates in both public and private schools are hereby directed to return to school with effect from Wednesday 5th August 2020,” the statement added. “All responsible officers should please ensure the observance of extant COVID-19 Protocols in their schools.” The federal government had earlier approved the re-opening of schools across the country to allow exit students sit for exams amid the coronavirus pandemic.

BREAKING!!! 5 Key Mistakes of Hushpuppi Revealed by FBI's 28 Page Affidavit

Dubai police recently arrested Hushpuppi, Woodberry along with 10 African cybercriminals in a special operation dubbed ‘Fox Hunt 2’.
The operation took down the suspects for committing crimes outside the UAE, including money-laundering, cyber fraud, hacking, criminal impersonating, scamming individuals, banking fraud and identity theft.
The suspects were caught in a series of synchronised raids by six SWAT teams from Dubai police who foiled the gang’s bid to deceive many people from around the world and steal their money.
Hushpuppi and Woodberry have also been accused of defrauding an American state of $35 million meant for ventilators in the fight against COVID-19.
On Thursday, July 2, Dubai authorities extradited the suspected fraudsters, Ramon Abbas, better known as Hushpuppi, and Olalekan Ponle, also known as Woodberry, to the United States.
The charge sheet which gave an insight on some of the charges suspected Nigerian fraudster, Hushpuppi is facing in the United States was obtained by IGBERE TV.
In the affidavit prepared by FBI Special Agent Andrew John Innocenti, the suspected Nigerian fraudster and his co-conspirators were accused of stealing over $16m.
The affidavit made in support of a criminal complaint and an arrest warrant for Hushpuppi, also captured phone conversations between him and his co-conspirators after each business email compromise (BEC) fraud they allegedly perpetrated. They were also accused of attempting to dupe a Premier League Club of £100m.
It also captured photos of Hushpuppi’s luxurious lifestyle which was allegedly financed by proceeds of crimes he allegedly perpetrated.
Charles Awuzie who received a copy of the FBI’s 28 Page affidavit from IGBERE TV listed out 5 key mistakes of Hushpuppi.
1. In Hushpuppi’s fraud network, he wasn’t even the MAIN guy. His job was only to make bank accounts available for the Main guy to transfer the money into the accounts he provided.
So when next someone asks you to give them your account number for their friend in overseas to send them money through, please be careful. They can use your account to move illegal funds.
2. The main guy who used to conduct the Hacking is not a Nigerian. He was arrested in October last year but the FBI detained him and may have used him to chat with Hushpuppi. So Hushpuppi thought he was still communicating with his hacker without knowing that his hacker may have made a deal with FBI to nail him.
Here’s the lesson – if you hire a Hacker for a dirty job, the day he gets arrested, he will become an asset to FBI and he will personally lure you into your grave. The main hacker’s identity is protected because he’s an asset to FBI but look at how Hushpuppi was publicly disgraced because he’s a MERE thief.
3. The FBI agent that investigated the case leaned on Hushpuppi’s Instagram and snapchat accounts to nail him further.
Beware of what you post on social media. Beware of your comments and inbox messages. Be careful.
4. Hushpuppi has no I.T skills. He was a complete novice who just used to pay strangers to hack for him.
Lesson – the Hacker you are paying today will definitely destroy you tomorrow.

JUST IN: Female Soldier Raped By Bandits Appeals Dismissal

The Nigerian Army has dismissed a soldier for getting pregnant after she was raped by suspected bandits while travelling to Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

The rape victim was charged with one count of 'conduct prejudicial to service discipline,' found guilty and dismissed from the regiment.
She, however, declined to speak on her ordeal when contacted on the phone on Wednesday, saying, "I have not asked you to publish anything, but we are working on the appeal," ThePunch reports.
Her lawyer, Johnson Oyewole, expressed the conviction that his client's unlawful dismissal would be overturned and she would be recalled to continue serving her fatherland.
According to an appeal to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, filed by her lawyer, the victim enlisted in the Army in March 2012 as a member of 67 Regular Recruits intake and was serving with 56 Signal Command, Mile 2, Lagos, before the incident.
The letter, which challenged the soldier's dismissal, read," It is manifest that the purported trial of our client was tainted with substantial irregularities; there is no offence under the law and no element of the offence of misconduct prejudicial to service discipline that talks of pregnancy while in service and warranted dismissal under section 103(1)."
It noted that the soldier obtained a pass to travel to Oyo State, sometime in October 2014 when the vehicle she boarded ran into bandits along Odo-Oba road.
Five men allegedly raped her. She was taken to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, where she was treated for six days.
Following the sexual assault, she obtained an extract from the police crime diary, an affidavit, as well as a medical report, which indicated that she sustained "injury of right ankle joint with laceration and bruises around the thigh region."
In December, she reported sick at the Military hospital, and the matron confirmed that she was 12 weeks pregnant.

Amnesty Special Adviser: "Pick A Competent Head That Knows Our Struggles" - Group Urges Buhari

Stakeholders in the Niger Delta region have called on President Muhammadu Buhari to pick a competent candidate this time around as Special Adviser to the Amnesty Programme.

Stating this in a statement made available to our correspondence, the Ijaw People’s Development Front, noted that the call was necessary because of the ongoing search by the Federal Government for a Special Adviser to the Amnesty Program.“We want a competent and dedicated person for that office who knows the struggles of the Niger Delta people,” the statement said.

While expressing concern over the purported push by the National Security Adviser (NSA) to the President , Maj. General Monguno, to make his former course mate, Col. Abel Dadis (rtd), Coordinator of the Amnesty Program, the statement noted: “We are dismayed that the NSA is planning to impose a candidate like Col Abel (rtd), a former chief of staff to Gen. Paul Boroh (rtd), former Coordinator of the Amnesty Programme, who was sacked for incompetence and gross corruption by President Buhari.”  ” How can Gen Monguno appoint a man who worked with Boroh who’s being investigated by the EFFC and standing trial for corruption and embezzlement of funds?”.

The statement added that such a move was a ploy to cover up the massive looting and rot in the Amnesty Programme in the past five years.

international flights: FG asks airlines to prepare for resumption

The Federal government has asked airlines to begin the process for the resumption of international flights.     National coordinator of the presidential task force on COVID-19, Aliyu Sani, disclosed this at the daily press briefing of the task force today Thursday, August 6.      In his words

“The restrictions in the entertainment and education sector as well as other activities that attract mass gatherings such as operation of markets and worship centres, remain. Specific to air transportation, domestic operations have already resumed as well as the railways.      For international travel, we have made recommendations to the aviation industry to commence the process for opening international airports provided all existing international and local prevention guidelines on Covid-19 are in place.

We have modified the advice with regards to the arrival for flights. Passengers arriving at the airports for domestic flights are advised to arrive at least one and a half hours before their flights and three hours before international flights when it is restarted.

There might be requirements for additional infrastructure in some of the airports. What we want to do, and we have made it very clear at the PTF is, we want to reopen as soon as possible but in a safe manner that does not put at risk all the efforts we have made to control this pandemic. Hopefully, the airports would open in weeks, rather than months. That is what we are looking at” he said

Aliyu also announced that the 10pm to 4am nationwide curfew still remains. He also announced that daycares and primary schools remain closed and should only open for those in exiting classes that require to sit for their transiting examinations. He said gyms, bars and cinemas remain shut.

“For community activities as it relates to daycare and primary schools, all daycare and primary schools are to remain closed till further evaluation.

However, while primary schools must remain closed, registered pupils may proceed to take the National Common Entrance as soon as it is feasible, provided there is compliance with issued non-pharmaceutical guidelines. For secondary and tertiary institutions, these remain closed. However, we have made arrangements for exiting and graduating students in their final year of secondary school to partake in exams in line with guidelines issued by the Federal Ministry of Education.

However, schools must comply with the six (6) recommended steps and required measures issued by the Federal Ministry of Education and which is available online. There are no new changes to places of worship – our policy remains the same.

We continue to allow personalised services such as mechanics, artisans, hair salons etc. who own their own workshops or workstations, and can clearly adhere to non-pharmaceutical interventions.

“For hotel restaurants and eateries, hotels may continue to remain open but must observe all mandatory non-pharmaceutical interventions. Restaurants have to maintain the takeaway/ delivery system until further notice. Bars, gyms, cinemas and nightclubs remain closed until further evaluation.

” he said
The PTF coordinator also disclosed that the management of the National Youth Service Corps NYSC has been told to start working towards resumption in the next phases of the eased lockdown.
