When these powerhouses inevitably clashed on this day in 2019, the ensuing battle panned out to be among the best matchups of the year as they combed for  over a five-hour-long extra-innings thriller.

New York proceeded to plate two runs thanks to  2-run HR. Minnesota answered with one run of their own to push the game into extra innings. New York then put up two more runs in the 10th, which Minnesota proved unable to match. The Yankees secured the win on a by Hicks with the bases loaded.
